QUESTION: When taking small pets as carry on … do they weigh or examine carrier? Want to try to bring 2 pugs on board? I am travelling home for the holidays and want to take my pugs with me. They are small so I think they can fit in 1 carrier. The airlines rule says total carrier plus pets can’t exceed 15 lbs. Are they really going to weigh it though? They’re small pugs.
ANSWER: I have seen them weigh it. Plus you will have to take the dogs out and put the carrier though the screening belt. Plan on being taken off to the side for the wand screening and pat down. That is almost normal procedure so don’t think you are being picked on.Like stated earlier – each airport’s TSA is different in how they handle it.Good luck – travel safe.
