QUESTION: Why is my puppy pug sucking on my other dogs nipples when she isn’t even the mother or even ever had puppies? My cattle dog 6 yrs old has never had puppies before and I just got a pug puppy and the pug just follows the cattle dog everyware and keeps sucking on her nipples. Is that hurting my cattle dog? Is it bad? Should I stop it? Or wat?
ANSWER: The pug was taken tooooooo soon from its mother. Has no clue how to behave as a dog.Peace.
It is a natural thing for puppies. They will suck on anything that resembles a nipple. A maie friend of mine just came in from pool and still had his shirt off and picked up my 8 wk old puppy and was holding him and he found his nipple and latched right on. They will even suck your fingers or a pacifier. Nothing to do with getting milk its a comfort for them just like a toddler sucking on a pacifier or an empty bottle.
They just need to have something to suck on. It pacifies them and they feel peaceful. Give this puppy a babies pacifier and this should stop most or all of it. Kim said it well.
KIM IS PROBABLY RIGHT. BUT MY PUPPY IS 2 YEARS OLD AND I STILL GIVE HER MILK. SOME VETS SAY NOT TO GIVE THEM MILK, BUT IT FRESH COWS MILK AND NOT FROM A STORE ITS DIRECTLY FROM THE OMISH FARM SO ITS ALL NATURAL.
