How can I keep my 5 year old pug cool while im at school?

QUESTION: How can I keep my 5 year old pug cool while im at school? I have my pug outside most of the day while im at school. And ive been kind of worried lately about his breathing being abnormal. I believe this is from the heat and i dont think i should leave him outside while im at school from 7am – 6pm.And noon is home between that time. Anyone have a suggestion as to what i should do?

ANSWER: Bring him in on the days it’s going to be hot.  Short nose breeds suffer a lot in the heat actually all dogs would if it’s seriously hot outside and Pugs are not really outside dogs.  I’d never leave a dog unattended for the best part of 11 hours outside regardless of the weather.   Anything can happen to him out there including being stolen.  He’s going to be far safer and more comfortable indoors out of the heat and safe.   Obviously you need to have somebody come in at least twice a day 4 hours is long enough for any dog to be left to let him out to empty if nothing else.  Otherwise get him into a day creche.He’s 5 now – what have you been doing for all the years you have presumably already had him?   Or are you trolling – new a/c.
